灾难大片《2012》一上映，便达到了一票难求的地步，着实令人惊讶——一部由玛雅预言加上诺亚方舟两者结构而成的电影，竟会有如此大的魔力？我想，除了大片的吸引力之外，也更多的反映了人们对地球——我们这个生存家园的关注。而据资料显示，地球上一些美轮美奂云的景色正在因为环境等原因而渐渐消失。

消逝原因：温室效应，导致冰帽融化
消失档案：尽管极度寒冷的天气让许多人敬而远之，但是一片银白色的冰冻大陆，独特生态环境所孕育的北极熊、海象、北极兔、蓝鲸、海豹、北极狼、北极旅鼠、驯鹿、雪雁、北极燕鸥、企鹅……等许许多多的珍奇动物，和别处难得一见的天然奇景极光，依然让南北极成为许多旅游爱好者心中的梦幻乐园。
由于温室效应造成全球气温升高，已经使得两极冰帽开始融化，直接冲击当地生态环境，现存的南北极生物可能会逐一面临灭绝的危机。除了失去南北极这两片生态宝库，冰山的融化也使得全球海平面上升，许多低洼地区的国家，如吐瓦鲁、诺鲁将在数年内被海水淹没。
